Homelessness – RH Fullerton

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”

(2 Cor 5:18-19)

We have been called to share the good news that through Christ we have been made new. Through meeting tangible needs and building relationships with those experiencing homelessness we are able to be Christ’s ambassadors to those in need of good news, while being stretched and transformed ourselves.

Sometimes our lack of awareness and education can get in the way of engaging our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Join us as we learn with other local churches about homelessness and how to love our neighbors well.

Fullerton National Guard Armory Cold Weather Emergency Shelter
Join us as we serve as support staff for our local Cold-Weather Shelter for those without a home. We will help set-up the shelter, sign-in, serve a meal, and help sort through donations. The shelter is open from November-March. Sign-ups to come once we have the shelters opening date. The Cold-Weather shelter can house up to 200 people a night. Mercy House the organization who runs the program is always in need of toiletries, socks, razors, and underwear for those who stay at the shelter. Come join us as we love our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We will be helping Mercy House set-up and run our local cold-weather shelter. Tasks include laying out mats, signing people in, serving dinner, or any other task needed.

*Must be 13 or older to serve due to the new lease agreement Mercy House had to sign with the National Guard*
